Last weekend Tyler and I rented a car and drove to Akaroa to swim with the world's smallest dolphins, called Hector Dolphins. This trip was especially unique because the dolphin's are 100% wild. After plunging into some pretty cold water, we spent about 45 minutes in the water making weird noises with our snorkels so the dolphin's would come play with us. Here is a video Tyler made of our swim:

Grandma Johnson says "Hi!" : Do dolphins bite or nip at your hands or legs? They seem pretty frisky when they whizz by you and Ty. What about all those high pitched noises, is that you or the dolphins? I don't know about you and Tyler and your parents and Alex swimming with sharks! That seems a little like Grizzly Man Timothy Treadwell and his adventures with the bears in Alaska. He was eaten along with his girlfriend of course. You know bears in Alaska, but you did'nt try and pet them! What age were you when you went with your dad? You seemed so young and fearless. Mark wants you to dive on a pirate wreck, but I want you to be safe. Have as many experiences you think you can handle. Be safe. We all care about you a lot. Mark says don't pick up any Sting Rays by their tail! GRANDMA J
ReplyDeleteHi Mark and Grandma! That's us making all the goofy noises. We were told the dolphins would be more interested in playing with us if we made bubbles and weird noises with our snorkel. But the dolphins never touched us, just swam really close! I wen tot Alaska when I was 9 or 10 I think? But I barely remeber it. Miss you!
